1. David H. Haeger started his brick making business in 1871. Located along the bank of the Fox River in Dundee, Illinois, the clay on the river banks provided the bricks that helped re-build Chicago after the great Chicago fire.
2. The two panther lamp that I have in my collection,[shown below], i believed to be a Haeger. It’s not! The exaggerated style of this planter/lamp reminds me of a Royal Hickman design, which it may well be, given that Phil-Mar bought his Royal Hickman Industries in the late ’40s. This is a Phil-Mar Lamp.
