I will attempt to document the Haeger glazes through the years. I will put together lists and descriptions and try to provide pictures of glazes that I am certain are accurate.
Recently I was fortunate enough to acquire a set of twenty-one early Haeger bud vases. The bud vases are design #16 and were done by J. Martin Stangl in the early 1920’s. This bud vase design was available for purchase from approximately the late 1910’s until the mid 1930’s. They were also manufactured and sold at the 1934 World’s Fair in Chicago. They are nowhere to be found in the 1938 Haeger Product Catalogue. I preface this because the glazes on these bud vases are a good representation of the earliest Haeger glazes used for their first art-ware line.
The twenty-one bud vases that I acquired can be broken down as follows: 10 gloss finish glazes and 11 matte finish glazes. Some of the glazes I will attribute to J. Martin Stangl and some I will attribute to Franz Joseph Koning.
